October 13, 1955 – March 8, 2022
Earl R. "Nugget Nick" Nikolas II, born October 13, 1955 in Charles City and resident of Carriere, MS, passed away surrounded by his loving family, March 8, 2022 at Slidell Memorial Hospital.
Earl is survived by his wife, Kathie Hayes Nikolas and his three daughters, Stacey (Chance) Nikolas Cruz, Stephanie Nikolas and Taylor Nikolas, grandchildren, Kilee (Austin) Melancon, Trey LaSalle and Rylee Raffo; 2 great-grandchildren, Saxon and Bailey Melancon; siblings Mary (David) Deike, Julie Freese, Michael (Lori) Nikolas, Lori (Larry) Hildestad, Patrick (Theresa) Nikolas and Kristi (Joel) Demuth. His mother Jeanette Croell Nickolas.
He was preceded in death by his father, Earl R. Nikolas in 2018.
Nick was well-respected supervisor of heavy construction for over 30 years, having specialized in the construction of many bridges in the southeast region.
Nick had a lifelong passion for Harley Davidson motorcycles. He was a very proud member (retired) of the Nuggets Motorcycle Club, as well as having been a former North Iowa Chapter president. His club "brothers" were a huge part of his life right to the very end.
Nick loved the wind, the water and his three daughters and grandchildren. He will be missed dearly and always remembered for larger-than-life personality and big "bear hugs".
A celebration of life and gathering will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers or gifts the family requests any memorials be sent to Stacey Nikolas, 1560 Victoria Way, Slidell, LA 70460.
