May 7, 1940 – September 15, 2024
Irverene M. Campbell was born May 7, 1940, in New Orleans, Louisiana. She was one of four children born to Irvin and Dolores Breaux. She transitioned to be with the Lord on September 15, 2024.
Irverene graduated from Joseph S. Clark High School on May 21, 1958. Irverene was known for her cooking, beautiful floral arrangements, and her work with the church, where she was always an active member of the usher board.
Irverene married Calvin Campbell Jr. of Abbeville, Louisiana on June 20, 1959. Three children were born into this union. They moved to San Francisco, California, where they bought their first home on Hahn Street and raised their family. They also purchased apartment units as rental property in Oakland, California. Irverene worked at Schlage Lock Company for many years until she left and became a homemaker. After retirement, Irverene and Calvin bought a home in Vallejo, California, where they stayed until they decided to move back to their home state of Louisiana. Their Slidell, Louisiana home is where they spent the rest of their days with family and friends. They were married for fifty-four years until she was widowed in 2013 with the passing of her husband. Irverene was a member of Starlight Missionary Baptist Church of Slidell, where she was an active member.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Irvin and Dolores Breaux, and her brothers, Cornelius Joseph Breaux and Irvin Breaux Jr.
Irverene leaves to cherish her memory one daughter, Cynthia Campbell Boone of Slidell, Louisiana; two sons, Calvin (Lisbeth) Campbell III of Lancaster, California, and Kelvin Ronald (Tanya) Campbell of Slidell, Louisiana; her beloved sister, Dolores Bowman of New Orleans, Louisiana; Ten grandchildren, Fourteen great-grandchildren, and a host of family members and friends.
May the Lord strengthen and comfort the family during their time of bereavement.
