Jacquelyn "Jackie" Sorina James of Slidell, Louisiana passed away on Saturday, December 2, 2023, at the age of 70.  Jackie was born and reared in Slidell.  She attended St. Linus Catholic School and later graduated from Salmen High School.  She was a life-long member of the St. Genevieve Catholic community.  She was companion and mentor for STRC clients through the years.

She preceded in death by her parents Anthony S. Sorina and Agnes Narcisse Sorina, and two brothers, Anthony J. Sorina Sr. and Randy Sorina, and niece Shellie Overton.

She is survived by her husband Larry James, and two daughters, Yulon James and Tara James Lawrence (Kendrick).  Her two sisters, Valerie Sorina and Floria Sorina Faciane, and two brothers, Gene Sorina and Jimmy Sorina (Rhonda).  Her granddaughters Skyler James, Dakota Brown, Kimberlynn Brown and Kennedy Lawrence and grandson, Caiden Lawrence.  Her great-grandchildren, Jaliyah Bolds and Tyilan Bolds.  Her sister-in-laws Rochelle Smith Doucette (Curtis), and Kim Laurent.  She is survived by numerous nephews, nieces, cousins and many other relatives.

Visitation will be at St. Genevieve Catholic Church on Thursday, December 14, 2023, from 9-am and Mass at 11am.  Interment at Slidell Memorial Cemetery. Daney Street, Slidell, Louisiana.   Funeral arrangements by Doyle Funeral Home.  May the Lord strengthen and comfort the family during their time of bereavement.
