Celebration of Life for Tommy Lee Freeman Jr.

Mr. Tommy Lee Freeman, Jr. made his journey home to glory on Thursday, March 13, 2025. Mr. Freeman was commonly referred to as Tommy or dad and his close family called him Torry. Mr. Freeman was a man of God, enjoyed attending church and loved to send daily inspirational messages to his loved ones daily.

Mr. Freeman was a native of Fort Wayne, Indiana and grew up in San Diego, California. Mr. Freeman graduated high school and attended a two year college program focusing on law enforcement courses. During high school, he had a passion for body building and competed in several competitions with his brother Timmy. Mr. Freeman had a loving personality and never met a stranger.

Mr. Freeman had a wonderful career in law enforcement and worked in jails and prisons in San Diego, California. Mr. Freeman was a lead member of the Special Response Team. Mr. Freeman also worked as a law enforcement officer at the San Diego Zoo ending in retirement.

Mr. Freeman preceded in death his father, Tommy Lee Freeman Sr. He will be sorely missed by his mother, Mary Dunnigan, sister, Derinda Evans (Barnell Evans Jr.), sister, Shelly Freeman, brother, Timmy Freeman and his favorite Aunt Pamela Johnson-Taylor. He was the loving father of son, Tommy Lee Freeman III (wife, Laura Gonzalez-Freeman), and son, Benjamin Freeman (finance, May Sanchez), daughter, Domonique Maria Freeman, and son, Daniel Booker Freeman (Hailee Laborde). He was the proud grand father to Jeremiah Benjamin Freeman, Malia Celeste Freeman and Anaya Freeman. He also loved his host of nieces and nephews. His two best friends, Terry Akins and Jeff Millet were instrumental in his life and were his extended family.

The family will have a private Celebration of Life Ceremony and Ballon Release on March 29, 2025.

May the Lord strengthen and comfort the family during their time of bereavement.
